Is social media a force for good or are our online lives making us more isolated than ever? “Touch Me: Songs for a (dis)Connected Age” is a one-act musical featuring all-new songs composed by writers from across Canada that is bound to get you thinking about the connections in your life.

    The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is hosting an Earth Day art exhibit in the core of Chinook Centre, in order to shine light on its mission of electronic reuse. All installations and art pieces have been created from unwanted electronic scrap. This unique and virtuous exhibit will inspire and amaze, while highlighting the ingenuity of local artists! In addition to the Art Fair, the ERA will be doing an electronics collection drive, as well as free hard-drive shredding. Take this opportunity to empty your storage room of used and unwanted electronics!

    A Fundraiser for The CIG Team of Lord Beaverbrook High Special guests Paper Street Theatre Co. are back with a little teen angst, romance and a lot of 80s fun in An Improvised John Hughes. Paper Street’s talented cast joins the Kinkonauts to create a brand new show in the style of John Hughes based on audience suggestions and featuring a classic 80s soundtrack. So tell your mother you’re sick, blow out your birthday candles and get ready for detention because we’re rocking out John Hughes-style! The Kinkonauts are Calgary’s longform improvised theatre company. Based out of the basement of a Unitarian church, they are comprised of more than 30 improvisers and numerous troupes dedicated to creating emotional, grotesque and profound play-skits and make-em-ups. Highlight shows this season include The Mainstage Show, One Lions, our house teams The Breakdown and Dream Toast, STU, Notorious and Mixtape, which brings together improvisers across Calgary to interpret entire albums of music
