The Maurice Ruddick Story: Beneath Springhill.
A true story of how song can save lives. In 1958 just outside of Springhill, Nova Scotia a minor tremor rocked the No. 2 Colliery, trapping 174 men inside. Despite a broken leg, Maurice Ruddick, kept his work mate’s spirits up by singing and leading them in prayer. This is a play in celebration of life, hope and song.
