    It’s now official. The one and only Cher herself revealed that she will kick off her 49 city North American ‘Dressed to Kill’ tour, stopping in Calgary on June 25, 2014. Cher’s previous tour, ‘The Farewell Tour’, later dubbed ‘The Never Can Say Goodbye Tour’ was one of the most successful tours ever by a solo artist and played a record-breaking 325 dates and was seen by over 5.5 million people.

    The RCCHP, in partnership with the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Alberta, is pleased to host their 12th annual charity golf tournament at the challenging and beautiful Redwood Meadows Golf Course. This year, ARF is the local charity of choice to support through the RCCHP annual tournament. We are currently open to all golfers and also seeking sponsorship and prize donations.

    Cyclepalooza is a community-driven, do-it-yourself bicycle festival held every summer in Calgary. Cyclepalooza brings people together through cycling for fun and transportation. Cyclepalooza is a volunteer-directed, community-based, bicycle-themed festival promoting arts, culture, events, and fun in Calgary. It was formed out of the desire among Calgary area cyclists to bring more publicity and interest to cycling and its positive impacts on communities, and to bring communities together through cycling.

    Get out your costumes and support Calgary Theatre! Third Street Theatre is having a Costume Gala fundraiser that is not to be missed!“Stars of the Stage & Screen” is Friday June 27th at the Arrata Opera Centre and you are encouraged to dress as your favorite character from film, TV or the stage but costumes are not mandatory. Get your photo taken on our red carpet then enjoy the evening of burlesque, vocalists, boylesque, our season announcement and a big dance party. DJ Molly*Fi from Girls on Decks will spin the tunes and our entertainment includes burlesque queens Raven Virginia and Sugar Mae B. of the Garter Girls. Our Artistic Associate Kyall Rakoz will be performing boylesque and we have two incredible vocalists too. Eric Wigston – who is known for Spring Awakening, Jeremy de Bergerac and Evil Dead will treat us with his vocals as will Brandon Wood – known from The Last Five Years, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & Anne of Green Gables. We will have a costume contest with prizes in various categories judged by local celebrities that include Bill Brooks (Calgary Herald) and Reid Feist (Global TV). All money raised will help with production costs of next season. Third Street is Calgary’s only queer theatre company devoted to presenting authentic queer stories on our stages, challenging stereotypes and giving the LGBTQ community a voice.
