    Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup: Alberta Shorelines Need Your Help.  Monday, September 1, 2014. Runs until Friday, October 31, 2014

    Help clean Alberta’s shorelines and take a stand against shoreline litter in your community! The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, is one of the biggest cleanup events in the world and gives all Canadians a chance to connect with their local rivers, lakes, streams and seas, helping ensure the long-term health of our waters. Since 1994, this national conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF has removed more than one million kilograms of litter from our shorelines. Last year alone, the Shoreline Cleanup removed over 99,000 kg (equivalent to the weight of 132 smart cars) of shoreline litter.     Tour of Alberta Finish Line Festival. Canada Olympic Park. Tuesday, September 2, 2014. 

    The Tour of Alberta presented by ATB Financial, Canada’s largest major international professional cycling stage race, is back from September 2 – 7, 2014! Come watch 120 of the world’s best cyclists as they race over 700 grueling kilometers across Alberta. As a sanctioned UCI 2.1 Pro Stage Race, the event will include 15 elite cycling teams, including five international Pro Tour Teams – some of the same teams that compete in the Tour de France — and 10 Pro Continental, Continental, and National teams from around the world. The Tour of Alberta is a six-day professional bicycle race promoted under Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) rules. The total distance of the Tour of Alberta race will be 741.9 kilometers (461.0 miles).

    Challenge Yourself and Change Lives at the Easter Seals Drop Zone The 10th Annual Easter Seals Calgary Drop Zone goes down September 4th, 2014! A group of superheroes will face their fears and rappel 30 storeys down Sun Life Plaza to the streets of downtown Calgary with all proceeds of this fundraiser going to benefit Easter Seals Alberta.
