    Experience the magic of an old fashioned Christmas during Once Upon A Christmas, running for five weekends at Heritage Park. Tour the Park on a festive horse drawn wagon ride, decorate gingerbread men, sing classic Christmas carols and warm your toes by a roaring fire.     Be charmed by the intricacies and style of period instruments and resounding voices, including Calgary’s professional vocal ensemble VoiceScapes, amidst the glorious setting of Knox United Church. The audience will be surrounded by sacred song from all corners of the church in this unforgettable start to your seasonal celebrations! This concert recreates a vespers (evening prayer) service for Christmas as it might have sounded in a large north German church in the early 17th century. Michael Praetorius is one of the most prolific and influential composers of the early German Baroque and his music has been compared to that of Monteverdi’s sacred music.
